AB grew up playing soccer – a midfielder turned-defender (as they so often are), she was known for superb on-field vision and a rather lacking ability to execute said vision. Now, old, jaded, and surely not a professional player in any regard, she has found herself with the ability to execute the off-field vision of platforming herself entranced by all that women’s professional soccer has become. From a girl who dressed as Alex Morgan for the fourth grade wax museum to a twenty-three-year old who would probably do the same if presented with the opportunity, she hopes this blog can become a download, a forum, and a community for people that run the gambit of women’s soccer fandom. She hopes to highlight beautiful play, share hot takes, provide probing analysis, lay heavily on snark, and highlight important issues/battles/and opportunities within the game. She will now be dropping the third person act. I can’t wait to see where this takes us!

I always loved the ethos of “booting it” in soccer (in reference to kicking the soccer ball to oblivion upon any sign of panic), perhaps to the chagrin of my coaches over the years. Alas, the idea of imparting all of your might into something, sending it, and hoping for fortune is also (pardon the cheese) what I hope to do here. Also, I am obsessed with calling soccer cleats boots; it just makes them so much cuter. So, welcome to my double-meaning “booted” blog; let’s get started.
